DIAMONDS & DIAPERS…AND THE LONELY CUP.
I am a constant caregiver to my great-aunt (maternal grandmother’s sister) named Anna Luz who lives with me. Often, I find it difficult when trying to get work done, trying to keep her engaged in television, magazines, puzzles, or chit chat. But, when my friend Ashante’s baby shower date was approaching, I decided to utilize her patience and had her fold invites, and stuff envelopes. She folded 100 invites and stuffed 100 envelopes. I need to have her help me more often. This is Ashante’s 3rd child and her 1st girl. I called it, Diamonds and Diapers.
I also created this wonderful table display for Ashante’s baby shower. This my third diaper cake creation. My friend Crystal came over and she has always been a creative genius. She kicked it up a notch. My twin sister, Olga also took the lead and revamped the shower chair. We had a full house of at least 50 people including children. After attending to my numerous house guests and caregiving duties, I was exhausted! And it was nice that the grandmother-to-be took the lead in cleaning up “shop.” In the morning, my neighbor swept up a medium-sized pile of party remnants left over and I rescued a lonely styrofoam cup sitting across the street near my neighbors lawn. The after effects of an in-house party are long-lasting and exhausting. Cheers to that lonely cup.
